  1. COVID-19 era

    CPRC Hospital origins

    The platform that became MPIS has its roots in the CPRC Hospital system developed during the COVID-19 pandemic response.S1

  2. February 2021

    Patient management functionality introduced

    Public sector material records the introduction of patient management functionality, moving the platform beyond pandemic data collection.S1

  3. 2022

    Hospital Tanjong Karang implementation; 17 hospitals by year end

    MPIS was implemented at Hospital Tanjong Karang, covering 114 beds within two weeks. By the end of 2022, 17 hospitals had implemented the Patient Management component.S1

  4. February 2023

    Approval for expansion and rebranding to MPIS

    Approval was obtained for further expansion, and CPRC Hospital was rebranded as the Medical Programme Information System (MPIS).S1

  5. Q1 2024

    74 hospitals on Patient Management; 2.5M+ patients; 39,000+ users

    Public MOH material reported more than 2.5 million registered patients, more than 39,000 users, 74 hospitals using Patient Management, eight hospitals with comprehensive implementation, 66 undergoing progressive implementation, and seven operating MPIS alongside legacy systems.S1

  6. August 2024

    UGM visit report describes around 80 hospitals

    A report following a visit to MOH described around 80 hospitals using MPIS fully or modularly, with 13 using it comprehensively at that stage, and referenced a wider 149-hospital implementation ambition.S8

  7. February 2025

    Public emphasis on off-the-shelf subscription cloud EMR

    Reported statements by the Digital Health Division set out a direction of deploying off-the-shelf cloud EMR systems on a subscription model rather than building systems internally.S2

  8. July 2025 — HIMSS25 APAC

    “We are not going to build systems anymore”

    Conference reporting described the One Record, One Citizen direction, a four-zone approach using four EMRs, an initial procurement covering 16 hospitals, and emphasis on FHIR and HIMSS EMRAM frameworks.S3

  9. 19 May 2026

    MOH advertises MPIS maintenance and support tender

    Tender No. 85/2026 for technical support and maintenance of MPIS hardware, software and applications was advertised on 19 May 2026 and closed on 12 June 2026.S4
